The Shiromani Akali Dal today thanked Captain Amarinder Singh for letting the cat out of the bag on the November 1984 massacre of innocent Sikhs and accepting that the carnage was carried out under orders from the late Prime Minister, Mr Rajiv Gandhi.In a statement here, said the SAD spokesperson Mr Harcharan Singh Bains said ," Amarinder Singh tells us that a son should not be punished for the sins of his father. This is the strangest but the most emphatic way to admit that Rajiv Gandhi was guilty of the most inhuman crime of killing innocent and defenseless Sikhs," said Mr Bains, adding that the truth of the real identity of the prime killer of the Sikhs in 1984 had "providentially escaped Captain Amarinder's lips."But we are still grateful for this admission of Rajiv Gandhi's guilt on Amarinder's part.
The SAD also ridiculed Captain Amarinder Singh's pathetic political somersault on Rahul's competence as a leader, ," It is clear that Captain Singh is attempting a " you scratch my back, I scratch yours" deal with Rahul Gandhi by praising his only months after the former Chief Minister had publicly declared Rahul was not yet good enough to lead the party. Asked then why he would prefer Sonia over Rahul, Captain SIngh had replied, "I wouldn’t like somebody over my head who keeps changing her mind or gets pressured and you don’t know where you stand. " But Amarinder's political somersault now is devoid of political dignity or principles.Referring to Captain Singh's allegations against the badals about poisoning of wells, Mr Bains said, "Captain Amarinder Singh would do well not to got into this game of ancestral skullduggery as everyone in Punjab knew about the persecution of Sikh masses by the Patiala Royal House, including the slapping of charges of "gadavi chori" ( theft of water container) against the great Panthic and patriotic icon, Sardar Sewa Singh Thikriwala.
