In order to identify works for which funds under different schemes under different sectors can be converged and utilised, District Development Commissioner Baramulla today chaired a meeting of the officers of different departments at Baramulla.Calling for increasing employment and efficient use of funds under various schemes of different departments and sectors, the DDC stressed upon the officers to identify projects and formulate a plan for convergence of developmental projects under various sectors.The District Development Commissioner made a mention of the fact that works like conversion of barren land into orchards and development of mulberry nurseries and sericulture and other works can be planned under these schemes. It was given out that projects like water-shed management, construction of fisheries ponds and conversion of barren land into productive land can also be planned under the convergence plan of different schemes. Use of funds of MGNREGA for completing the projects of Agriculture, R&B, Floriculture and Rural development departments was also highlighted.The District Development Commissioner called for a joint and coordinative effort from the Officers of the departments. The Officers were directed to formulate a plan and submit it before 6th November.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development and officers of horticulture, Agriculture, Rural development, R & B and other departments also attended the meeting.
