Describing Cultural taste of J&K a priceless treasure, Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Forest and Animal Husbandry, Abdul Majeed  Paddar has asked for making youth aware of their rich cultural heritage, so that State’s centuries old cultural taste is rejuvenated and preserved.The Minister was speaking at a Sham-e-Sufiyana function held at Tagore Hall, Srinagar aimed to revive and boost rich Culture of Kashmir, mainly Sufiyana.Underscoring the need of safeguarding cultural history of State, the Minister said culture is identity of nations and we should contribute for its preservation and protection to safeguard our identity.

Mr. Paddar said despite having a rich cultural heritage, our youth lack knowledge about their local heroes. We have to change this by organizing such cultural revival events. He asked cultural activists and youth to contribute their best to carry forward the fascinating and rich culture of State.Underlining the resolve of the government to preserve rich cultural tradition of the state, the Minister said State is famous for its cultural diversity and all out efforts would be made to conserve and promote it besides encourage artist community.During the Sham-e-Sufiyana event, various programmes reflecting Kashmiri culture were presented by different artists and groups which were highly applauded by the audience.Later, the Minister felicitated senior/veteran and young folk artists of valley who have contributed for the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage of Kashmir.On the occasion, song album of Bollywood based Kashmiri singer Saiam Bhat was also released.
