In order to discuss formulation of New Education Policy (NEP)- gross root consultation at village level through VEC’s, a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag . The meeting was attended by ADDC, SDM’s, Principals of Govt. Degree Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, DIET, CEO, Tehsildars and principals HSS and ZEO’s.It was informed that the new policy is based on consultative process wherein gross root feedback shall be mandatorily incorporated to address the gross root problems faced by education sector. It was informed that the formulation process involves three levels; village, block and district.
This is aimed to address the area –specific issues through area – specific approach. In this regard, a questionnaire was circulated among all the principals of HSS and ZEO’s to be filled after proper deliberations with the VEC’s in their respective zones.DC directed the concerned officers that the VEC meetings shall be organized on Ist of Nov, 2015 at 11am at designated locations and the resolution so finalized shall be uploaded on the MHRD website.The questionnaire has 33 themes, out of which 13 themes pertain to elementary education where the involvement of VEC’s is mandatory. Rest 20 themes are concerned with the higher education for which DC informed that all the principals of Govt. Degree Colleges and Polytechnic Colleges should have consultations with MLA’s /MP’s/ MLC’s and other resourceful persons and submit their feedback by 7th of Nov, 2015.
