The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh has said that the contribution of the Late Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel would be remembered forever for his historic contribution in ensuring the integration of the country.The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at the concluding function of Run for Unity organized here today in connection with the birth anniversary of Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel. The Run which started from the historic Mubarak Mandi concluded at Maharaja Hari Singh Park in which thousands of students from different schools and enthusiasts participated.The Minister for Cooperatives, Tsering Doorjay, Minister of State for Information and Education, Ms. Priya Sethi, MPs Avinash Rai Khanna, Jugal Kishore, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Legislators, Rajesh Gupta, Satpal Sharma, Rajiv Jasrotia, Ravinder Raina, Ramesh Arora, Yudhvir  Sethi and several prominent politicians, intellectuals and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion.

Dr. Singh while recalling the contribution of the late leader said that he was instrumental in ensuring that the 562 princely states acceded to the union of India which is a major contribution in the modern history. “It was due to the tireless efforts of this visionary leader that he succeeded in ensuring the accession of so many princely states into the union of India, the step which has no parallels in annals of history and would be remembered by posterity forever”, he maintained.“The occasion serves as a reminder to us to work collectively for ensuring that our nation prospers and everyone of us contributes their bit for ensuring that the anti national forces are defeated and given a befitting reply”, the Deputy Chief Minister said and maintained that the message of late leader is more relevant today and collective efforts should be made to propagate the same.The Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture, Ms. Priya Sethi also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the historic contribution of the late leader and appealed the younger generation to follow the path shown by late Sardar Patel and work for building the nation and defeating anti national forces.
