NIA court extends remand of Udhampur attack accused

A NIA court here on Monday extended by another 14 days the judicial remand of a Pakistani terrorist and two accomplices who killed two BSF troopers at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.Y.P. Kotwal, special judge of the National Investigation Agency court, extended the remand of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Mohammad Naveed alias Usman of Faislabad (Pakistan) and two Kashmiris, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat and Showkat Ahmed.Naveed was one of the two LeT terrorists who carried out the attack on a Border Security Force bus at Udhampur on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on August 5.Three people, including two BSF troopers and an LeT terrorist, were killed in that attack. Another 11 BSF troopers were wounded.Two Kashmiris, Khurshid Ahmad Bhat and Showkat Ahmad Dar, both belonging to south Kashmir, are accused of arranging the passage of the two LeT terrorists from the Kashmir Valley to Udhampur where they carried out the attack. Naveed fled from the attack site but was caught by villagers and handed over to police. The NIA is investigating the case.
