Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli Saturday said the Government is committed to provide basic facilities to the people in far-flung.Speaking at a public grievance redress camp at Chamalwas area of district Ramban, the Minister assured the people that the overall development of every knock and corner of the state was government’s priority.“Education is the basic requirement for developing socially and educationally backward communities as well as weaker sections of the society,” Kohli said.The Minister directed the officers of Motor Vehicles Department and Traffic Police to keep check unauthorized vehicles in the district. He announced SRTC bus service from Ramban to Neel on daily basis and assured the people of more bus services for other routes of the area. He directed the Transport Department to provide route permits to local unemployed youth for neglected routes.
He also directed the officers to submit detailed plan for new projects with the consent of local representatives.Earlier local representatives apprised the minister of their demands including upgradation of schools, upgradation of roads, transport facilities, construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal hostel, health centres, sanctioning of new schemes of drinking water supply, electrification of left-out areas, opening of new mobile schools, opening of GDC at Ukhral, more Anganwari centres, construction of check dams, construction of bridges, emergency hospital at Chamalwas, adjustment of local youth in under construction prestigious projects.General Manager, SRTC, Tehsildar Banihal, SDPO Banihal and other officers and prominent citizens, local leaders and general public attended the function.Earlier, the Minister visited the residence of Qari Abdul Qayoom to convey his condolences to the bereaved family on the demise of 25 year of old Qari Abdul Qayoom son of Faqir Mohammad resident of Amkot Banihal.
