Minister for Information Technology and Technical Education and Youth services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Wednesday urged all stakeholders to think upon the adverse effect caused by climate change in J&K and devise a concerted strategy to combat change.The Minister was addressing the concluding function of 11th J&K Science Congress 2015 held at Kashmir University today.The theme of the Congress which lasted for three days was “Scientific, social, economic dimension of climate change”.Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Khursheed Iqbal Andrabi, Dean Academic Affairs, Deans of various faculties, Heads of departments of various subjects, scientists and scholars were present on the occasion.

The Minister said that all Governments should take collective steps to improve the research work on the subject at global level as the effects of climate change are also global in nature.The Minister stressed upon all Heads of the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir to further boost the research work and make efforts to develop scientific temper among the students.Molvi Ansari assured that the recommendations made by the scientists during the Science Congress shall be given due attention by the State Government.Vice Chancellor Kashmir University emphasized the need for learning more and more to produce best researchers. He said 35 technical sessions were held during the 3 day Science Congress in which 799 oral/poster presentation were made.Earlier, the Minister gave away best oral/poster presentation certificates among different scientists belonging to agriculture, biotechnology, bio-chemistry, earth sciences and other streams.
