Governor Acharya Devvrat inaugurates ARTRAC exhibition

An Exhibition to commemorate the victory of 1965 war was put up by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla at the Ridge here today. Governor Acharya Devvrat inaugurated the exhibition.Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Devvrat paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the motherland. He lauded the valour and devotion of the defence forces who were guarding the frontiers of the country as well as rendering assistance in various operations during natural disasters etc.

The Governor said that Himachal Pradesh was a land of brave youth and efforts were afoot for opening coaching centres for training youth to qualify exams like NDA in near future. He went around the exhibition and appreciated the efforts of the ARTRAC Shimla.The Governor also distributed prizes to NCC Cadets Keshav Kishore, Rituja Kulkarni, Sunita Devi, Devi Sharma, Sr Under Officers Shubham Kumar and Reena Devi for their various achievements.

Lt. General P.M. Hariz, GOC-in-C ARTRAC Shimla gave a detailed account of various battles fought during 1965 war and the war heroes to the Governor.Lt. General Raman Dhawan, Chief of Staff ARTRAC Shimla, Shri Dinesh Malhotra Deputy Commissioner, Shri Mohan Chauhan, Secretary GAD, Officers of ARTRAC Shimla were also present on the occasion.Short movies in Hindi and English on 1965 war, latest cutting edge equipment of army, stalls for providing information on various entry schemes into army, an attractive food court are the main attractions of the exhibition which shall be open to public till 11th October, 2015 between 10 am to 7 pm.
