Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura said that a Rs. 564.77 lakh project report has been sanctioned by Union Ministry of Tourism in the year 2013-14 to explore tourism potential alongside Mughal road.The Minister stated this while replying to a question by Zafar Iqbal Manhas on behalf of the Chief Minister in the Legislative Council today. The Minister informed that the said project envisages creation of tourist related infrastructure along Mughal road by way of providing facilities viz cafeterias, budgeted accommodation, restaurants, public conveniences, visitors interpretation centers etc.
With regard to Shadab Karewa village in district Shopian, the Minister said that presently there is no proposal for development of tourism related infrastructure in the village in particular. He said however, development works shall be taken up in future in a phased manner, subject to feasibility and availability of resources.Showkat Ganai and Ajatshatru Singh raised supplementaries to the main question.
