District Development Commissioner Ramban Bashir Ahmed Dar today convened a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements registered under various state and centrally sponsored schemes of health sector.Chief Medical officer Ramban, Dr. Anwar Bhat gave a resume of the functioning of the department and informed the chair about ongoing construction works of health centers at Ramban, Banihal, Batote and Gool. He also informed that there are 121 health institutions functioning where 261 of doctors and paramedical staff are providing medicare.
DDC directed the Xen R&B for close monitoring of ongoing construction works of all buildings besides submitting monthly progress report in this regard.
DDC directed CMO, Dy.CMO and other officers for taking a regular review of all schemes meant for improving maternal, adolescent and child health specifically focusing on measures to check mortality, morbidity, infant death, seasonal diseases, epidemics, anemic patients in the district.Stressing that awareness is more important to check diseases than treatment, DDC said that it is the duty of health department to make the people aware about various health practices and proper sanitation.Threadbare discussions were held on many health care issues and availability of ambulances besides use of modern technology at institutional levels.DDC further directed the CMO and BMOs for holding regular meetings with the field staff improve the functioning of the department. He directed that training for newly recruited staff be conducted to make them proficient in this pious field.The meeting were attended by, CPO, Parshotam Kumar, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban, Dr. Saifudin, Dy.CMO, BMOs, ADs etc
