Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the ‘Fateh Rally’ being held on December 21 at Jagraon would act as a game changer for Indian politics with Punjabis set to host one of the largest political rallies ever held in India to herald the ascendency of NDA prime ministerial candidate Narindra Modi and the NDA in the country. Addressing a joint meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal-Bhartiya Janta party alliance at the SAD head office here, Mr. Badal said that the people of Punjab were eagerly waiting to witness this historic event as well as teach the inefficient and corrupt UPA government a befitting lesson in the 2014 parliamentary elections. He said that the SAD patron and Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Narinder Modi would address the rally respectively exactly from 1 PM onwards and asked the party rank and file to make arrangements accordingly.Sukhbir Singh Badal also gave a wide range of instructions to the party rank and file including the need to ensure that normal traffic was not disrupted in the State on the day of the rally.Congratulating the leaders and workers for registering big victory in the recent Vidhan Sabha elections, Mr. Badal extended special thanks to the party workers especially Istri Wing for running a successful campaign to register party’s first victory in Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections. He also thanked people of Delhi for expressing their faith in the party. He said that victory on three out of four contested seats in the Delhi has encouraged the party to extend its base in other states. He announced that the party was working on a plan to contest on more than 40 seats in the next Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Earlier addressing the meeting, President BJP Punjab Mr. Kamal Sharma said that NDA has won the semi-final and Modi wave would help the alliance to sweep the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. “This rally is named Fateh Rally as Mr. Narinder Modi is coming Punjab to get Fateh Blessings from this land of warriors. People of India were never so enthusiast to elect a person to the post of Prime Minister. Now, it is our duty to make this Fateh Rally a grand success on every aspect”, he added.Meanwhile, SAD President announced the names of heads of committees responsible for the various arrangements like mobilizing people to rally, arranging breakfast, lunch and tea, vehicle parking and Pandal setup etc. A coordination office responsible for coordination between these committees has also been established.Party secretary and spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema announced the names of members of these committee members besides giving schedule for arrangements. He also read the party resolution giving all credit to Party Patron Parkash Singh Badal and Party President Sukhbir Singh Badal for registering first ever every victory of party in Delhi assembly election and thanked the voters of Delhi for expressing faith in the party. Meeting also passed a resolution thanking Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Industries and Commerce Minister Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal for making ‘Progressive Punjab Investment Summit 2013’ a grand success.Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Secretary General, Mr. Tota Singh, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, all Senior Vice President, Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, General Secretary, all General Secretary, Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, Sikandar Singh Maluka, Mr. Sarwan Singh Philaur, Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Mr. Surjit Kumar Jiyani, Mr. Anil Joshi, all cabinet ministers, Mr. Tikshan Sood, former minister and a number of other senior leaders from SAD-BJP alliance attended this meeting.
