Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat on Fridaylauded Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for taking a bold stand on Kashmir during his address to the UN General Assembly (UNGA).According to a statement issued to KNS, Zaffer, who returned from New Delhi yesterday, visited several areas including Badipora, Natipora Chanpora, Char-e-sharief and Sowgam and appraised general masses about the current political scenario of Jammu Kashmir and prevailing situation.He apprised people about the anti-freedom movement and anti-Islamic policies and agenda being implemented by the state government on behest of communal forces.

Addressing the gatherings, Zaffer said Prime Minister in his address at the UN truly represented the aspirations, wishes and miseries of Kashmiris. He said the four-point formula presented by Nawaz Sharif is the voice of people of Kashmir and thanked the Prime Minister for taking up the issue of Kashmir at the UN.Zaffer said the Prime Minister’s emphasis on demilitarization of Kashmir, ending atrocities in Kashmir, consultation with Kashmiris as well as peace and dialogue is key to establishing durable peace in the region. He said that Kashmir is the highest militarized zone in the world and their presence is a danger for the innocent lives of Kashmiris. He said that forces deployed in Kashmir have became main reason for the human rights in Kashmir.“During the last 25 years, the forces of India have killed more than one lakh people of this region and the same number of people has been subjected to the worst kind of custodial torture. Ten thousand people have been subjected to forced custodial disappearance and another 10 thousand have been killed in custody of the Indian forces. Indian forces are using the rape as war weapon and till date 7500 women has been raped or molested here.” He said.

Zaffer said that Pakistan Prime Minister has encouraged the subjugated Kashmiris by mentioning wishes, aspirations and miseries of the Kashmiri people on the stage of this world body. He thanked Prime Minister for informing the world leaders about the history and prevailing situation of the Kashmir.”

He said that the Prime Minsiter was right in saying that the United Nations Organization has damaged its credibility by not fulfilling its responsibility in addressing the Kashmir issue and this institution has failed so far to come up to the expectations of the poor and subjugated nations of the world which they had attached with it at the time of its incorporation.Zaffer said that Kashmiris are hopeful that Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic, political and moral support to genuine Kashmir Freedom Struggle. He hailed the efforts of Kashmir diaspora for organization Kashmir Million March and said that such steps will surely help in securing the cause for which lakhs of innocents have laid down their lives Zaffar also condemn the Dader UP incident in which communal forces of India attacked the Muslim family and demand for juctice for victim family through impartial probe.
