Minister for Social Welfare and ARI Trainings  Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that fulfilling of peoples aspirations and developmental needs received focused attention of the government adding that implementation of flagship programmes are aimed at bringing prosperity in rural and hilly areas of the State.This was stated by the Minister today while addressing a large public meeting at Danew Kandimarg of Noorabaad Constituency in Kulgam district.She said the implementation of MGNREGA, NRHM, RAMSA, RGGVY, PMGSY and other centrally sponsored Schemes in the State has given a fillip to upgradation and expansion of education, healthcare, road connectivity, power and drinking water facilities across the State during past 5 years of the present regime.During the extensive tour of Noorabad Constituency, the Minister took stock of people’s problems and developmental needs. She underscored the need for time bound completion of all on-going projects for early benefits of the people in the constituency and asked concerned executing agencies to work with more dedication and zeal to achieve targets in full.

Ms. Itoo also exhorted upon the officers to ensure mass public awareness of different welfare programmes launched by the government for weaker sections. She called upon the people to come forward and take maximum benefits of these Schemes.Meanwhile, the office of Horticulture Department was thrown open by Ms.  Sakina Itoo at Kandimarg which started functioning of office work from oday.Meanwhile a number of deputations called on the Minister, who apprised her about the problems confronting them. The Minister heard all the deputationists patiently and assured them early redressal.Ms. Itoo informed the delegation about the various initiatives undertaken by the government for ensuring socio-economic development of the rural areas and also the measures taken for ensuring the decentralization of the powers at the local level.ADC, Kulgam, Mr. Gulzar Shabnum, other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
