Zaffer hosts family members of martyrs ahead of Eid-ul-Azha .Distributes Eid gifts among them Srinagar, September 22: Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Tuesday organized a grand function in Srinagar at residence of Party Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat and hosted family members of martyrs, victims of Indian oppression, political detainees and those who’s nears and dears disappeared in custody in during last two decades. Hundreds among including the parents, children and widows of martyrs, political detainees and disappeared Kashmir’s attended function hosted by Salvation Movement in Srinagar. Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat presided over the function which started with the recitation of holy Quran. Senior party leaders including Abdul Qayoom Rather, Beg Aijaz, Hial Ahmad and others attended the function, apart from them Voice of Victims executive director Abdul Qadeer and coordinator Abdul Raof Khan Women’s wing secretary Ruqiya Baji and others attended function.
Chairman VOV Altaf Ahmad Bhat in a telephonic call addressed the function. Function started with the recitation of Quran and party leader Nasir Mushtaq presented the couplet paying tributes to martyrs. Rich tributes were paid to martyrs of Kashmir who laid their lives for the Kashmir cause and those Kashmir’s languishing in Kashmir and outside state they were remembered and their sacrifices were appreciated in the function. People mostly youngsters disappeared during forces custody in past two decades were also remembered in the function. Kiths and kens of martyrs who attended the function including salvation Movement leaders and activists pledged to continue liberation struggle despite odds. In the function, Eid gifts were distributed among family members of martyrs and were assured every possible help by party Chairman.Zaffer Akbar Bhat and expressed immense pleasure for hosting the family members of martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives and nourished ongoing freedom struggle with their blood.In his presidential address, Zaffer Akbar Bhat paid rich tributes to martyrs and said that the sacrifices rendered by them can’t neither be underestimated nor ignored. “Martyrs sacrificed their lives for Islam and freedom of Kashmir. Nobody will be allowed to exploit their sacrifices for petty interests,” he said, adding sacrifices rendered by the martyrs internationalized the issue.
He said that Kashmir’s nation must not lose heart due to ups and downs which they are witnessing in the ongoing freedom struggle as it is established fact that Indian can’t keep Kashmir in its illegal control for long. He stressed upon for unity among of Hurriyat leaders, Zaffer urged Leadership to forge unity and foil the anti-movement designs of Indian state. He urged international community to see that nation is uniting under the unanimous leadership of Syed Ali Geelani and urged all to join hands for greater unification and strength among pro freedom parties and leadership. Zafar Akbar said that Hurriyat under the leadership Syed Ali Geelani is representing the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir Pro-Islam and Pro-freedom slogans were raised in the function and family members of the martyrs committed that they will depict steadfastness during the ongoing struggle. Special prayers were held for martyrs, disappeared persons. Prayers were also held for the early release of detainees and freedom of Kashmir. (KNS)
