Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq who is also Chairman of District Development Board (DDB), Anantnag Saturday reviewed implementation of DDB decisions and pace of work under various developmental schemes. He also reviewed action taken reports on Chief Minister’s commitments in Anantnag and took stock of sectoral physical and financial achievements registered in the district under the district plan.      Minster for Horticulture, Haj and Auqaf, Mr Abdul Rehman Veeri, MP, Mr Nazir Ahmad Laway, Legislators Syed Farooq Indrabi,  Mr Altaf Kaloo,  Mr Abdul Majid Bhat,  Mr Gulzar Ahmad and  Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri were present in the meeting.Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Mr. Muneer-ul-Islam, Director Education Kashmir, Director Health Service Kashmir, ADC G. H. Sheikh, Joint Director Planning, ACD, ACR, SDM Dooru, Pahalgam & Kokernag besides, other District Officers also attended the meeting.

It was given out in the meeting that in District Anantnag Rs.186.15 crore is being utilized on development of public infrastructure in various sectors under the District plan, during current financial year 2015-16. It was also informed that DPR for development of “Brenji” road has been prepared and shall be submitted shortly.Status of macadamization of Achabal-Anantnag, Krad-Seer Hamdan road was also discussed in the meeting. Completion of “Bumzoo water supply scheme” was also discussed threadbare and it was given out that the scheme shall be thrown open for public utilization by September end. Besides Nowhera Hut and Kathsoo Park will also be thrown open for public by December, 2015. It was also stated that DPR for Solid Waste Management by Housing & Urban Development Department shall be finalized shortly, for which consultants have already been engaged.In the meeting it was revealed that vaccines for 207 Hepatitis-C patients in Kokernag area are being procured and children up to 5 years age are being immunized for Hepatitis-B.Action taken reports regarding developmental projects like Vailoo-Singpora Tunnel, Anantnag-Achabal-Simthan road, macadamization of fruit mandi, PHC Chittergul, PHC Loktipora and establishment of Maternity Care Hospital at Kreeri were also discussed in the meeting.

The officers concerned were directed to speed up the pace works so that targets are met within stipulated time. Action taken reports with regard to renovation of Sadura bridge, Tourism gateway, Qazigund, adoption of HSS schools by MLA’s/ MLC’s and starting of skill development courses in GDC Anantnag were also discussed. Besides MLC, Sofi Yousuf made commitment of developing HSS Srigufwara as a model school for which he will provide requisite amount out of his CDF.Khan directed the officers to ensure strict implementation of all decisions taken in the DDB meeting so as to achieve better results under different state and centrally sponsored programmes. He stressed on the officers to submit status reports of works listed by local legislators and cautioned them against any laxity in this regard. He said that fulfilling public aspirations remains priority of government and there is need to keep a check on quality of works.Action taken report with regard to commitments made by the Chief Minister pertaining to various sectors viz Wild Life , Education, Horticulture, Tourism, etc were also reviewed.Meanwhile, the Chairman stressed on the concerned officers to achieve optimum results within set time frame for development of core sectors in the District. He underscored need for paying focussed attention to improvement of road connectivity, drinking water, power supply, education and healthcare facilities, equally across the district.
