Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the schedule for 6th World Kabbadi Cup 2015. This mega event would be held fromNovember 15 to 28.The schedule was decided in a high level meeting held here at Punjab Bhawan, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Punjab and Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Minister Rural Development and Panchayat. Mr. Badal, who is also holding the sports portfolio, has approved the names of proposed teams which include India, Pakistan, Argentina, USA, England, Canada, Iran, Seora Leon, Spain, Australia, Kenya and Denmark in men's competition.The teams in women's category will be from India, Pakistan, USA, New Zealand, Kenya, England, Denmark and Mexico.It was also decided to organize the opening ceremony at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar whereas Sports Stadium Jalalabad, Fazilka would witness the closing ceremony.
Government College Stadium, Gurdaspur, Sports Stadium Adampur, Jalandhar, Sports Stadium Daroli Bhai, Moga, Sports Stadium Sarabha, Ludhiana, Sports Stadium Chohla Sahib, Tarntaran, Kabaddi Ground Bholath, Kapurthala, Sports Stadium Badal, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Sports Stadium Atari, Amritsar, Kabaddi Stadium Dirba, Sangrur, Sports Stadium Barnala and Sports Stadium Mehraj, Bathinda have been selected for other kabbadi matches.Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed other preparations regarding tournament during the meeting.Prominent amongst other Mr. S. K. Sandhu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. D. P. Reddy, Principal Secretary Finance, Mr. P. S. Aujla, Principal Secretary to Deputy CM, Mr. Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM and Mr. Rahul Gupta, Director Sports were also present on the occasion.
