Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli Friday visited Check Shamashipora in District Shopian and took stock of availability of essential commodities there.The Minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Shopian G. M. Dar and other senior officers of the district administration.On the occasion various local delegations called on the Minister and apprised him regarding issues pertaining to potable water, road connectivity and macademization and distribution of ration as per 2011 census. The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured them that the government is aware of their problems and concerted efforts shall be made to address all genuine issues on priority. He also stressed on the officers concerned to put in an extra effort to help early redressal of such public issues, especially pertaining to issuance of ration before Eid-Ul-Azha.He also directed concerned PMGSY and PWD officers to ensure completion of various ongoing projects and black topping of roads before Eid so as to avoid any inconvenience to the people on the occasion.During his visit Kohli said various important initiatives including start of SRTC bus service from Poonch/ Rajouri to Srinagar via Mughal road have been taken by the government for the benefit of the common masses.
