Strongly condemning the house arrest of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from past two days, spokesman of Huiyat (M) has said the Government has “restricted the social, political and religious activities of the Mirwaiz”.Hurriyat (M) spokesman further said that all the organs of the state including executive and judiciary were perusing a divisive agenda in Kashmir by splitting the society on ethnic and religious lines. He said that Hurriyat (M) and the people of Jammu and Kashmir would not allow such divisive plans to succeed and would resist it tooth and nail.Lauding people for observing complete strike to protest again the ban of beef, the spokesman said that the Muslims would tolerate anything, but nothing which would infringe their religious beliefs and Shariah code.
Spokesman added that by observing complete strike the people of Kashmir have send a strong message to the world that they won’t tolerate interference in their religion at any cost.Spokesman expressed his grief and regret over the death and injury of Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia during a crane accident at Haram Sharief. He also prayed for the deceased souls and for the speedy recovery of the injured.The spokesman also denounced the arrest of several pro—resistance leaders. He said the leaders and people of Kashmir won’t be cowed down by oppression and arrests, adding, it will make them more determined to pursue the cause of freedom with vigour and courage. (KNS)
