Government Higher Secondary School Bhagwah today celebrated its annual day with zeal and fervor. Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhupinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.The welcome address was presented by the Principal Tanveer Ahmed, who in his address presented the resume of various activities of the institution besides highlighted the achievements of the institution despite various hurdles.Children of the institution presented scintillating cultural programme besides debate on communal harmony and skit on the same theme was also presented by the students.While speaking on the occasion the DC stressed upon development of innovative skills in the students to study new concepts and he appealed to the teacher community to encourage questioning by the students. He also highlighted the role of the extra co curricular activities in shaping the personality of the students. He announced that the students especially from rural areas who perform exceptionally well in the field of study and sports will be rewarded at the District level.
Later on the chief guest distributed prizes among the students who did exceptionally well in field of studies as well in sports activities. The first prize in debate competition went to Sofia Banoo, Student of GHSS Bhagwah, second position went to Momim Islai of Shaheen Public School Doda while as the third position in debate was shared between Altaf Ahmed and Meenakshi Devi both the students of GHSS Bhagwah.CO, 10 RR, M. Uphadhyaya, Tehsildar Bhagwah, Deputy Director Employment Doda, ZEO Doda, teachers, parents and students participated in the function.Later on, Tehsildar Bhagwah presented the detailed account of the Schedule of the special summary revision 2016 and appealed to all the students to spread this message to their parents and ask them to enroll all the eligible voters in the electoral roll during this special revision.
