In order to take stock of the progress of developmental projects in the district, a meeting was today held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal here today.The meeting was attended by SSP Baramulla, Mir Suhail, ADC Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, officers and officials of various departments of the district.The meeting took a thorough revision of all the development projects undertaken by different departments. Projects under R&B, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Irrigation & Flood Control and other departments were reviewed.A thorough revision of the progress of the works, viz., completion work of Trauma Hospital Pattan, PHC Tarzo, macadamization and upgradation of roads and bridges, decongestion of old Town Baramulla, Trade Facilitation Centre Phase-II, Uri Model Town Project, Model Village Projects and other projects were comprehensively reviewed.
During the meeting, officers informed the DDC about the stage of the undergoing works. It was given out that work is underway on all the projects and in some cases a considerable progress has been achieved.The DDC said that various developmental projects that are in progress should be completed as soon as possible so that people get benefited from these facilities.The DDC stressed upon the fact that these developmental works should be completed well before the projected timeline.Meanwhile, the DDC directed the officers to prepare convergence plan for schemes like MGNREGA and stressed upon the fact that a comprehensive plan will be formulated in the upcoming meeting. Moreover, identification of dumping sites and sites for waste management treatment were also discussed.
