Quoting Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s saying “Teachers should be the best minds”, Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi, on Friday said that onus of laying foundation of an enlightened civilization lies on teachers so they have to work with a great vision and mission.Priya Sethi, while addressing the students and teachers at Teacher Day celebration at Police auditorium, emphasized the teachers fraternity to equip themselves with rapidly moving trends in the education system to meet requirement of today’s student. “Good education begins with good teacher”, opined the Minister while exhorting the teachers to work like a torch bearer for their students as they have been entrusted with a pious job of shaping the nation’s future. She said if God gives position to someone then it becomes his prime and moral responsibility to make optimum use of that opportunity to liberate the society from the web of ignorance, hatred and uncertainty.

Describing Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s as a man of high principles and unfailing dignity, the Minister said that he with by his confidence, concentration and strong convictions went on to become a great philosopher who brought Hinduism to the whole world.  “Radhakrishnan moved beyond being a mere academician and utilized his philosophical and religious studies in the political and social developments of the contemporary context”, she added. She asked the students to learn from his ideology and philosophy towards life which would greatly help them shine in the world with a distinct recognition.The Minister, while conveying Modi government’s commitment of creating a totally changed and comfortable atmosphere for teachers and the students as well, the Minister said that all efforts are being done to bring in pragmatic innovations in the existing education system. She said that everybody has a teacher in him and it should remain alive always for world’ good.

Elaborating on significance of moral education in student’s life, the Minister said that ethical values is the essence of our Indian civilization and it is the responsibility of teachers to forward these values to young generations. She said that a morally strong person always gets a place in the good world while the weak has always to face humiliation.Highlighting agenda of present dispensation envisaging a total transformation in every parameter of education, the Minister said that since the change in the helm of affairs in the state there has emerged new hopes and aspirations among the people. “We have a clear vision and single mindedness towards our goal  and it is firm determination of the government to turn its words into actions”, she maintained.Director School Education, Smita Sethi, also addressed the occasion and said that students should be taught in such a way that they prefer to opt for teaching like great profession. She also paid tributes to great legendry Dr. A.P.J. Kalam.
