N. N. Vohra, Governor, who is Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, inspected the ongoing work for the restoration of Mahadev Temple at Reasi yesterday.Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the various works being carried out by the Shrine Board for the restoration of Mahadev Temple. He stated that the entire project is estimated to cost Rs. 1.50 crore, out of which Rs. 70 lakh have been spent so far. The Governor went around the Temple complex and took stock of the ongoing works undertaken by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. 

The Governor issued instructions for the expeditious completion of all work in the Temple complex including the Langar Hall, Kitchen, Public Conveniences etc. He observed that, if required, additional manpower be deployed, to speedily complete the restoration work as well as the construction of new facilities. The Governor directed that work be immediately taken up on landscaping of the Temple complex, scientifically pruning and reshaping the existing old trees in the complex and planting shrubs and ornamental plants alongside the boundary wall to add to the aesthetics of the complex. Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor; Dr, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, and the concerned officers of the Shrine Board were present on the occasion.
