Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer- ul- Islam, convened a meeting of Electoral Registration Officers on special summary revision of electoral rolls for registration of eligible voters in the district.The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to make sure that adequate publicity of the registration process is given so that none among eligible voter remains unregistered. He advised the officers to carry mass awareness drives across the district at local and Tehsil level including educational institutions so that every young voter from the cross over age group is provided with a voter ID card.Deputy Commissioner said that the officers must ensure the registration process is done in transparent manner and is error free. He asked the representatives of all the political parties of the district who were present in the meeting to appoint booth level agents so as to ensure transparency in the election process.The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, all Tehsildars of the district, Sub- Divisional Magistrates of Kokernag, Pahalgam and Dooru.
