Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura called for organizing awareness camps at block level to aware general masses about the schemes launched by the State and Central Government for welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.The Minister was addressing a district convention on Punarjagaran - Mass Awakening Campaign concluding function organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Budgam under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India held at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall Budgam today.The Minister appealed the youth to come forward and aware more and more people about various flagship programmes and welfare schemes meant for nation development. He also asked them to coordinate with Nehru Yuva Kendra so that the benefits of the schemes could reach to the maximum lot. He stressed for connecting more and more youth with Punarjagaran- Mass Awakening Campaign for the benefit of the people.The Minister appreciated the youth of Budgam district especially girls who participated in this awareness programme. He said the girls of the State are competing at par with boys in every field.
Hanjura said the State Government has already announced during the budget session that Rs.1000 will be credited in accounts of newly born baby girl from 1st April 2015. He said after completing 21 years of age Rs. 4.5 lakh will be credit in their account.Referring to the Swachh Bharat Campaign, Mr. Hanjura urged upon the youth to forward the mission and asked the district administration to ensure implementation of such campaign.Interacting with the media persons on the sideline of the function, the Minister said that the mega project for dragging of flood channels has been prepare and forward to the Centre and hoped that the work on the project started soon.
He said administration has already been directed to conduct joint survey by agriculture and revenue departments to assess the losses occurred due to incessant rains and hailstorm to the standing crops and vegetables.Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad also spoke on the occasion and highlighted activities carried by the District Administration for the development of youth.Zonal Director NYKS, J&K Mr. Sukhdev Singh in his address stressed for connecting more and more youth with Punarjagaran- Mass Awakening Campaign so that maximum people get benefitted.
