Governor interacts with officers at Civil Service Institute at Reasi

N. N. Vohra, Governor, visited the recently established Civil Service Institute and Officers Club at Reasi today.The Governor, on arrival at the Institute, was received by Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, and other officers of the District Administration.The Governor went around the various sections of the Institute and was briefed by the Deputy Commissioner about the facilities available and the aims and objects of establishing this Institute.Interacting with the officers, the Governor hoped that this Institute shall provide officers of the District Administration a pleasant venue for informal interactions and recreational activities. He observed that deliberations during informal get togethers can contribute towards building spirit of camaraderie among the officers of various departments and agencies, which can lead to a more cohesive approach which would engender improvement in the functioning of the administrative apparatus in the district. He observed that the venue could also be profitably utilized for arranging lectures and discussions on varied contemporary issues.

The Governor announced a support of rupees one lakh to the Institute for purchase of books and sports equipments. He also gifted a set of Urdu books to the Library of the Civil Service Institute.The Governor complimented Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, and other concerned officers for taking the laudable initiative of establishing this Institute. Baldev Raj Sharma, MLA; Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; and Mr. M. S. Chouhan, SP Reasi were present on the occasion.
