IIT Mumbai has set up its first nodal centre in Punjab at GGS- Sachdeva Group of Institutes, Chandigarh-Ludhiana Highway to introduce and make available open source technology in computer science to engineering students in the state under the Ministry of Human Resource Development Project.Giving this information to media, Surinder Pal Singh & Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, GGS-Sachdeva Group said that this tie up bridging the industry-academia gap which would not only help the students become employable and earn stipend, but at the same time, would help the industry in picking up the best talent from the institute..Baljeet kaur Monga, MD, GGS-Sachdeva Group added that the Group  has already tied up with  three companies including India’s leading animation and visual effects institute, Frameboxx, and its production house ‘Tea Stall’ that has already engaged ten students for training who would be working on live-projects and later earning salary while still at the learning stage.  She further added that Another IT company, Drona Edutronics has already set up shop in the campus and would not only be paying stipend to the students working for them but also share 20 percent of its net profit too.Dr. G S Virdi, Director, GGS-Sachdeva Group said that this initiative will help them get the stream of professionals for future and this will also secure the future of students. During this period, Students will get to work on animation software projects and will a handsome Stipend also.  Sachdeva Engineering College of Girls, Principal, Dr.Ravinder Khanna, IIT –Dehli Alumus said that Students will be given free training during the tenure. When a student finishes their degree they will have 2 -3 years of experience and multiple jobs with them.
