DDC reviews developmental scenario of Kulgam

District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah today chaired a meeting of all the departments in order to take general review of the progress made on the developmental front and deliverance of public service at the ground level.District Development Commissioner directed all the officers to work dedicatedly in order to mobilize their available resources, including men and machinery so that the developmental projects are completed within the stipulated time frame and the benefits, so accrued, are felt at the grass-root level.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Programme Officer ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate D.H Pora, Principal Government Degree College Kulgam, Chief Education Officer, Chief Executive Officer Aharbal Development Authority, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Superintending Engineers of R&B, I&FC, PHE and other District Officers.

Emphasizing on the need of ensuring deliverance of public services within the specified time-limit, District Development Commissioner called upon for the formation of public grievance cell under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Revenue for monitoring of the effective public service delivery.To tackle the traffic jamming and haphazard parking within the town, District Development Commissioner directed for the construction of a road divider and pedestrian footpath along the main road Kulgam. On spot direction was issued whereby the heavy vehicular movement in the town during the peak hours has been restricted. In this regard, ARTO and DSP Rural Traffic were instructed to strictly enforce the circular directions.He was also assured that the bye-pass road will be made functional so that traffic bound outside the town will be diverted through it. In this direction, he called upon the ARTO and DSP, Rural Traffic to devise a comprehensive action plan.

It was also informed in the meeting that a Rozgar Mela will be inaugurated by District Development Commissioner on September 07, 2015 at Government Degree College, Kulgam to be organized with the coordination of District Officer EDI, Employment and Counselling Centre, Government Degree College Kulgam, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Sericulture, Handicrafts and Handloom departments.District Development Commissioner also impressed upon the R&B, JKPCC and PHE departments to devise means for the timely completion of the projects. He also directed them to ensure that the ongoing development projects in education and health sector are accorded priority. Besides, he directed the SE, I&FC to accompany him to inspect the Vishov nallah.
