While expressing his deep sorrow and grief and anguish over the loss of precious human lives due to firing between Indian BSF and Pakistani Rangers, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute is the basic reason of the Indo-Pak hostilities and the big hurdle in the resolution of this long pending dispute is the rigid and arrogant policies of India. He explained in clear words that until and unless the Kashmir issue is solved according to the wishes, aspirations and sacrifices of its people, the hostile relations between India and Pakistan are impossible to end and the possibilities of a destructive war in this region will always exist.

According to a statement issued to KNS, while expressing his heartfelt sympathy with the people killed in the border firing, the pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that no conscience person can be happy over the loss of innocent human lives but until the real reason of this war like situation between the two nations is not discussed and addressed with serious and sincere efforts, this bloodshed will continue and the political uncertain and instable situations will further worsen in this south Asian region. He said that the Kashmir dispute is the creation of the partition of the sub-continent and since then India and Pakistan are head-to-head with each other and they could not establish a single day of trust and friendship with each other.

While giving reference of the history, Syed Ali Geelani said that whenever any concrete efforts were made to address the Kashmir issue forever, the rigidity and arrogance of India came in the way. This country claims to be the largest democracy but they could not protect this claim in Kashmir and this country uses all undemocratic and unprincipled ways to suppress the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and wants to continue its forced military occupation over this land.Syed Ali Geelani said that the tension on the border is due to the same thinking and they are frustrated over the recent stand of Pakistan over Kashmir.India every time want to talk to Pakistan without Kashmir since the BJP government came into the power but the stand of Pakistan on Kashmir and the pro-freedom leadership during the NSA level talks has frustrated India and it has resulted in increase in the hostilities on the border.

Hurriyat (G) chairman appealed the Indian rulers that they should adopt a serious attitude for the betterment of its citizens and accept the ground realities with regarding to the Kashmir issue. It is the only way out from this dangerous situation and it can bring peace and prosperity to the entire south Asian region. (KNS)
