Measures to be taken to revamp education sector

Director Education Shah Faisal Friday said that Allahabad High Court decision which makes it mandatory for government employees to admit their wards in government schools is under discussion and the Education Minister is serious bring drastic changes in the education sector.“Allahabad High Court judgment is a historical one and there is serious discussion going on between the officials and the Education Minister over the judgment. We have not implemented this judgment yet but there are bright chances that we will take a cue from it and will implement it in the state to revolutionize the education sector,” Shah Faisal told CNS adding that in coming months society as a whole will feel a major change in the education sector.

Director School Education said that he would try his best to revamp the education sector. “Government has already taken some measure to introduce the concept of modern education. We will take innovative steps to change the mindset of people about the government schools. We are mulling to introduce a Moral School Scheme whose thrust will be on moral education,” he said.Responding to a question, Shah Faisal said that the lack of facilities, infrastructure, buildings, and facilities for human needs have worsened the standard and attraction of Government schools. “We intend to improve the school system by providing sufficient infrastructure such as new class rooms, library, science laboratory, computer room, and recruitment of additional teachers with emphasis on Science, Math and English subjects and training of in-service teachers.

Director Education Kashmir said that teachers will be made responsible and accountable for poor results and poor performance in the government schools. They are the builders of nation and their intelligence, knowledge and honesty in deliverance ought to be of high standard. “There are schools and colleges which lack sufficient staff and heads and it is my first priority to provide heads to the headless institutions and sufficient staff to the staff starved educational institutions,” he said.
