Issues directions to formulate DPRs for WSSs Harwan, Gandtal

Minister of State for Power, Industries and Commerce and Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Thursday directed the officers of PHE to formulate a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Harwan.This instruction was given by Minister while conducting extensive tour to various areas of Sonwar constituency. The Minister visited Shalimar, Harwan, Gandtal, Syedpora and Kimber villages and took stock of various developmental works under execution in these areas.The Minister issued instructions to R&B department to conduct a survey of road from Syed Rehman sahib via Shalimar to Harwan garden and prepare a comprehensive plan for upgradation of the said road. He also asked them to prepare a DPR for road project from Darbagh to Rangil.

The Minister also inspected the under construction Medical Sub-Centre, Kimber and directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on the building. He also asked them to prepare a plan for development of the premises of the Centre. He said Rs. 8 lakh have already been released for the construction of the Health Centre.While visiting Syedpora, Mr. Ashraf directed the concerned to construct a protection wall on Nallah Malore near Masjid Sharief. He also directed the R&B department to start construction on the Rs. 1.80 crore link road from Syedpora to Sarabagh Gandtal.During the inspection bridge being constructed at Scaledub Harwan, the Minister directed the R&B department to complete the said project within the stipulated time. He also asked them to complete the ongoing construction work of Ayush hospital Harwan by March 2016.

The Minister inspected WSS Gandtal and enquired about the ongoing project of Newtheed-Syedpora Darbagh water supply scheme. He was informed that 3 lakh gallon water reservoir is being constructed in the area for which land has been identified and Rs. 10 Crore are needed for construction of the dam storage.The Minister directed the concerned to start the work on the project at the earliest so that long pending demand of Syedpora, Newtheed, Barji, Muftibagh, Darbagh and Murian Darbagh is addressed.Interacting with the people at different places, the Minister said that Government led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of the State.Referring to the development works under execution in Sonwar constituency, Mr. Mir Said that construction work on several macro and micro projects under different sectors is apace.
