DC Anantnag convenes meeting

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Muneer-ul-Islam today chaired a district- level meeting of Education, R&B and other concerned departments and took a detailed review of the Education Sector in the District. He stressed upon the officers to intensify the pace of work on undertaken school buildings by utilizing all available men and machinery so that the same are completed before time.Joint Director Planning, Chief Education Officer, Superintending Engineer R&B besides Zonal Education Officers attended the meeting.Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned to implement the new educational policy in letter and spirit, completion of the school buildings under SSA & RMSA before stipulated time and directed the concerned ZEO’s and Principals to personally monitor the construction work. 

He further instructed the concerned officers to furnish action taken reports with regard to work done on the identified educational institutions under ‘Model School concept scheme’ which has been started quite recently by the Government.It was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs. 89 crores have been allocated for education sector under district plan to revamp the education sector in the district. Deputy Commissioner was informed that two educational institutions have been identified in Shangus Assembly Constituency which shall be adopted by the concerned MLA for development under Model School concept.He also directed R&B Engineers to utilize all available resources for timely completion of undertaken constructions of school buildings, ACRS, toilet points, boundary walls and MDM sheds pertaining to education sector.Deputy Commissioner further stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure imparting of quality education and transparent distribution of Mid-day meals in the schools.
