Militant infiltration bid foiled in Kashmir

The army on Wednesday foiled an attempt by militants who tried to sneak into India from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, police said."The army intercepted a group of militants in Toot Mar Gali of Nowgam sector in Kupwara who had probably infiltrated into the Indian side of the LoC (Line of Control)," a police officer told IANS here.He said the militants were challenged by Indian soldiers following which the militants also fired, triggering a gunfight.
