Zaffar assumes charge as DG Information

Zaffar Ahmad Bhat (IAS) today assumed charge as the new Director General Information and Public Relations replacing Muneer-ul-Islam, who has been posted as District Development Commissioner Anantnag.Recipient of Chief Minister’s Gold Medal for honesty and integrity, Mr Zaffar has served as Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Secretary Tourism, Excise Commissioner, Director Handicrafts, Special Secretary in Governor’s Secretariat, Special Secretary Information and Special Secretary in Chief Minister’s Secretariat.He has earlier also served as Director Information for three terms.Mr Zaffar arrived at the Directorate of Information today to a warm welcome by the employees of the Information Department.
