Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Ms. Asiya Naqash today visited sub-district hospital Char-i- Sharief and reviewed functioning of the hospital. She also took stock of basic medical facilities being provided to the patients there.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government is committed to provide better healthcare facilities to the people across the State, adding that healthcare is among top most priority sectors for the government.The minister inspected ongoing construction and renovation works in the hospital and urged the executing agencies to expedite it so that the healthcare facility is completed on time and there is no inconvenience to the people.During her visit the Minister visited various wards, OPD and laboratories and other investigative units of the hospital. She also visited new boon stabilization unit.

The Minister interacted with patients and their attendants regarding healthcare being provided at the hospital. She urged the hospital authorities and staff to ensure better healthcare to the patients.Highlighting need to make people aware about various healthcare schemes being provided by the Government, the Minister asked the hospital authorities to ensure that the list of available medicines and details with regard to various schemes under NRHM are displayed conspicuously in the hospital premises. She also urged the hospital authorities to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital.During the visit various local delegations also called on the Minister, and presented before her their issues, the Minister assured them that their genuine demands will be considered on priority.On the occasion the minister announced that the endoscopy machine will be provided to the hospital soon.Later the minister convened a meeting to discuss various issues with regard to the hospital and healthcare facilities being provided there.Chief Medical Officer, Budgam and other senior officers of the health department accompanied the minister.
