Stressing for de-escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has expected the talks scheduled for August 23rd between the NSAs of two neighbouring countries would not get hampered by the partisan interests or any domestic political compulsions. In a statement to KNS, Tarigami while underlining the significance of improving strained relations between India and Pakistan said the two countries must resolve their bilateral issues amicably and without any commotion on the borders. He said that the tumultuous relationship between the two neighbouring countries has direct bearing on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Disapproving the unwarranted arrest of separatists ahead of NSA level talks, Tarigami said that the brief detention of separatists have remitted conflicting signals exposing the fragile chemistry between the coalition partners in the state. He said separatists meetings in New Delhi should in no way create a hindrance in the dialogue process as these meetings have been taking place in past and the same should not be used as an excuse to call off the talks.
