Minister for Revenue, Javiad Mustafa Mir today directed the Revenue Department to adopt a methodology through which accurate data of various schemes and surveys can be maintained adding that all field officials should submit the data after proper checks and sampling.Chairing a meeting of the statistical wing of Revenue Department in connection with reviewing the work done status of the census, the Minister said that the statistical wing of the Revenue Department is an important wing of the Department for doing any survey in the state. He asked the Financial Commissioner Revenue to ensure that all Patwaris give complete cooperation to the officials of Statistical wing.

While reviving the status of Minor Irrigation Census and Agriculture census, the Minister directed to submit the data of Micro Irrigation and Operational Holding at Village Lasjan in Kashmir Division and Vijaypur Village in Jammu Division.The Minister also directed to submit the reports for last five years of the cropping pattern, tenancy, disposal of holdings, SC and ST holdings across the state.The Financial Commissioner Revenue apprised the Minister that various schemes are under operation in Financial Commissioner’s office including Minor Irrigation Census, Agriculture Census, General Crop Estimation Survey, Official Statistics, Indus Water Treaty.The Minister also reviewed the pace of acquisition of land for dumping site at Dedmari Bagh, Srinagar and directed the Housing & Urban Development Department to submit the DPR of the project.The Financial Commissioner Revenue apprised the Minister that the SMC is going to plant modern technology of solid waste management and it may not require huge chunk of land.The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Public Works and Revenue, Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Financial Commissioner Revenue Dr. Arun Kumar, Secretary Revenue, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and other senior officers.
