Punjab Spends Rs 1096.76 Lac For The Conservation Of Heritage Buildings: Phillaur

Work Of 30 Heritage Buildings Completed Two In Progress

Punjab government has spent Rs 1096.76 lac for the conservation of heritage Buildings in the state from the year 2007 till date. pulging this here today Sarwan Singh Phillaur Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister Punjab said that this amount has been spent on 32 historical buildings to restore their glory.He said that conservation of Mughal Sarai Shambhu has been done with Rs 75.32 lac, Construction of Car Parking alongwith Shamhu Complex with Rs 40.30 lac, Conservation of Sheesh Mahal, Patiala with Rs 86.91, Landscaping of Charbagh, Patiala with Rs 101 lac, Conservation of Banasar Ghar, Patiala with Rs 92.62 lac, Conservation of Shahi Samadhi, Patiala with Rs 46.38 lac, Conservation of  Attari Mahal and Samadhi Complex with 94.26 lac, Conservation of  Pul Kanjari with 54.50 lac, Development of Sarai Amanat Khan Complex with Rs 27 lac, Conservation of Summer Palace, Rambagh Garden, Amritsar with Rs 10.65 lac, Conservation of Civil Defence Deori, Rambagh Garden, Amritsar with Rs 18.63 lac, Conservation of Rambagh Garden, Amritsar with 15.62 lac, Conservation of  Rambagh Gate, Amritsar with Rs 7.78 lac, Conservation of General Dyer's Bungalow, Amritsar with Rs 113.05 lac, Construction of Parking at Dera Baba Nanak with Rs 27.92 lac, Conservation of Guru Ki Maseet, Sri Hargobindpur with 44.40 lac, Environmental Upgradation of Dargah Masania, Gurdaspur with 91.17 lac, Environmental Upgradation  of 19th Century Church Complex Batala with 10.10 lac, Conservation of Maharaja Hira Singh Samadhi at Nabha with Rs 65.76 lac, Conservation of Irrigation Guest House at Ferozepur with Rs 68 lac, Conservation of Moorish Mosque, Kapurthala with Rs 17.34, Landscape work at  of Shalimar Bagh, Kapurthala with Rs 34.83 lac and Conservation of Shahi Samadha , Kapurthala with 20.10 lac have been completed.Mr. Phillaur added that Conservation work of Anglo Sikh Battle Sites at Misriwal with Rs 8.67 lac, Mudki with Rs 24.73 lac, Ferozeshah Museum with Rs 59.12 lac, Ferozshah Memorial with Rs 26 lac, Aliwal with Rs12.8 and Sabraon with Rs 7.83 lac has been done by the government to preserve our rich heritage. Minister further said that conservation work of Kothi near Banasar Bagh, Sangrur with Rs 53.23 lac and Conservation work of Baradari near Banasar Bagh, Sangrur with Rs 41.30 lac is in progress.Mr. Phillaur retreated that Punjab Government is committed to preserve its rich culture and heritage in the state. He said that in the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Government setting up af state-of-the-art Jang-e-Azadi memorial at Kartarpur to show the contribution of freedom fighters, state-of-the-art memorial at Sri Ram Tirath Temple — the birth place of Lord Rama’s sons, Luv and Kush at Amritsar,  Sri Guru Ravidass memorial at Khuralgarh village in Garhshankar and Swami Virjanand Memorial at Kartarpur.
