INLD MLAs met governor Haryana, seeks intervention in discrimination with farmers

An INLD delegation led by leader of opposition and senior INLD leader Chaudhary Abhay Singh Chautala and party’s state president Shri Ashok Arora has met Haryana governor Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki, seeking his intervention in the discrimination being done by the BJP led Haryana government in compensation for the farmers, whose land has been acquired for the Kaithal bypass.The leaders who met the governor including former Haryana agriculture minister Jasvinder Singh Sandhu, former CPS Rampal Majra, INLD MLAs Ranbir Gangwa, Naseem Ahmad, Pirthi Singh Nambardar , Prof Ravinder Baliyala, Makhan Lal Singla, Ram Chandra Kamboj, Ved Narang, Anoop Dhanak, Rajdeep Phogat, Nagender Bhadana, Kehar Singh Rawat, Om Prakash Gora, Balkaur Singh and former MLAs BL Saini, Rajbir Barara, Pradeep Chaudhary, INLD leaders RS Chaudhary, BD Dhalia, MS Malik, NS Malhan, Ram Singh Brar, Ashok Sherwal, Praveen Attray, Randhir Singh, Harphool Khan Bhatti.

 In the memorandum submitted to the governor the INLD leaders said that the agriculture land being acquired from Pyoda, Kyodak, Harsola, Sega, Narad, Gyong and Ujhana villages. The state government was paying only Rs 27 lakh per acre to the affected farmers, whereas the market rates are around Rs 50 lakh to one crore per acre. However, the government was paying Rs 46 lakh  per acre in Kalayat, Pehowa and Ismailabad to the farmers’ whose  land had been acquired for the same purpose. They said that against this discrimination by the government affected farmers are sitting on the protest for the past 29 days and two farmers Chanda Singh and Dariya Singh are on hunger strike ( fast till death ) for the past 15 days but nobody from the government has reached them yet.  in the memorandum the INLD leaders have demanded immediate intervention of the Haryana governor against the discrimination and raising the amount of compensation to Rs 70 lakh per acre to all farmers.  They said that the condition of the  farmers, who are on hunger strike, was worsening but the government not worried about them.  Extending their support to the protesting farmers the INLD leaders said that they will not allow the government to continue the discrimination with the farmers.

 Later talking to media in front of Haryana Rajbhawan Shri Abhay Chautala said that the BJP government has failed to fulfill its promises but now it is working against the promises and people of all sections are suffering. They promised to implement reccommendions of swaminathan commission but now they refused to implement it.  Similarly, they did not take any step for regular jobs to the guest teachers and even started removing them. Now all section of society including farmers and teachers of the state are on the roads against the wrong policies of the Khattar government in Haryana. He also said that government’s recent decision of making education qualification compulsory in the panchayat elections has deprived 87 per cent people of the state from participating in the elections.  He said that there is no educational condition on the election of MPs and MLAs, they have taken the decision just to delay the panchayat elections. He reiterated that the INLD is ready to contest on the party symbol if BJP and Congress will field their candidates on their symbol in the panchayat elections. He also said that the INLD will raise the each and every issues related to the people of Haryana in the coming assembly session.

Condole demise of President’s wife

Leader of opposition Shri Abhay Chautala and INLD’s state president Shri Ashok Arora have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of President Pranav Mukherjee’s wife Subhra Mukherjee. The INLD leaders conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace. Shri  Abhay Chautala and Shri Ashok Arora have also expressed their deep grief and sorrow over the unfortunate incident occured at Manikaran Sahib in which many people were killed as well as injured.
