Dr Shahnaz Ganai condemns cross border violence

Senior National Conference leader and MLC, Dr Shahnaz Ganai has expressed serious concern over the loss of precious human lives and properties due to cross-border firing in Poonch district of Jammu region.Dr Ganaie, who is on a tour to the USA in connection with the International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP), said in a statement: "It is unfortunate that at a time when both India and Pakistan were celebrating their independence day, the residents of Poonch and other areas along Line of Control and International Border were fleeing their homes due to heavy firing on borders."Expressing solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives, she appealed the leadership of both India and Pakistan to show maturity and wisdom. She urged upon the leaders of the two countries to take immediate measures to deescalate the ongoing violence. She also appealed the PDP-led govt in Jammu and Kashmir to immediately provide all sorts of relief and assistance to the people who have become victims of this dangerous military machination.
