Div Com visits Hajj House, Airport, Reviews arrangements for Hajj 2015

In connection with reviewing and finalizing the arrangements for Hajj 2015 being made by the State Hajj Committee, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon visited the Hajj house Bemina Srinagar and convened a high level officers meeting here today.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Executive Officer State Hajj Committee, Director Tourism Kashmir, Chief Engineer, Electric Maintenance and Rural Electrification, Kashmir, Chief Engineers of PHE and R&B, Commissioner SMC, RTO Kashmir, Director Airport Authority Srinagar, CMO Srinagar, SSP Traffic Kashmir, General Manager SRTC, Srinagar and other officers.

While reviewing the arrangements and facilities being provided to the Hajj pilgrims, the Divisional Commissioner was apprised that SRTC will provide 20 buses for better transport facilities to the Hajj pilgrims.The Divisional Commissioner was informed that PHE department will install 2 dewatering pumps in Hajj House, while as electricity department will also install generator sets in Hajj house for adequate power supply.Dr. Samoon was informed that all arrangements and basic facilities with regard to electricity, drinking water facilities, sanitation besides establishment of medical camp along with services of medical officers and ambulance would also be kept available in Hajj house Srinagar.

The Divisional Commissioner was informed that 6700 Hajj pilgrims will perform Hajj this year for which the first batch in two flights will depart from Srinagar Airport to Medina Munawarra on August 17, 2015. This process will continue till August 21, 2015. He was informed that from August 22, 2015 to August 31, 2015, only one flight in which 340 Hajj pilgrims will be depart for Medina Munawarra.Later, the Divisional Commissioner also visited the Srinagar Airport and reviewed the flight arrangements being provided for hajj 2015.
