Two Chandigarh policemen among four arrested in bribery case

Two officers of the Chandigarh Police were among four people arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a Rs.40 lakh bribery case, CBI sources said here on Thursday.The sources said that the arrested officers were a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and an inspector, both associated with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Chandigarh Police.A businessman was also arrested.The sources said that the accused had sought a bribe of Rs.40 lakh to settle a property dispute matter that was being investigated by the EOW.More details were awaited as investigations were still in progress.
