DC Bandipora chairs meeting

In order to discuss various issues with regard to revised guidelines for registration of beneficiaries under Section 12 of Building and other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act, 1996, an officers meeting was held today at Bandipora with District Development Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr. Shah Faisal in chair.

During the meeting, issues regarding one percent Labour CESS deduction and registration of labourers were discussed threadbare.The District Development Commissioner on the occasion said that the Act has been made for welfare of the labourers. He impressed upon the officers to ensure that the amount is deducted/deposited in letter and spirit by the concerned departments and other agencies. He also issued directions that the registration of the labourers may be made in a proper way.The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Labour Bandipora, Chief Planning Officer Bandipora and the officers and engineers of Rural Development, R&B, PHE, Revenue and other departments.
