Speaker for separate cadre for library staff in LA

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Gul directed the officers of Assembly Secretariat to prepare a comprehensive proposal for separate cadre for Library staff of the Legislative Assembly.The Speaker was speaking at a meeting of the Library Committee of the Legislative Assembly convened here today to discuss measures taken for the improvement and upgradation of the Library unit of Legislative Assembly.Mr. Gul directed the concerned to speed up the process of cataloguing of library books so that the same could be put on website. He said that 54000 text books are available in Jammu and Srinagar libraries of the Assembly Secretariat. Mr. Gul directed the Secretary Assembly, Mr. M. Ramzan to issue 10 books to each library card to every legislator for use of readers of their respective constituencies.Legislators, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Mr. Lal Chand and Prof. Guru Ram Bhagat attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions for bringing further improvement in functioning of the library.Threadbare discussion was also held for creating adequate infrastructure of the library block.The Speaker directed the concerned officers to start construction work on 4th limb of Assembly complex at Srinagar so that the same could be used for library purposes.
