While terming the stand of Pakistan over not inviting the J&K Assembly Speaker to the upcoming Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) which is to be held in Islamabad as opportune and based on reality, Hurriyat Conference (G) Monday said “Kashmir is an internationally acknowledged disputed territory and India can neither succeed in changing the status and nature of this state by its rigid and stubborn policy and nor can be this region kept permanently under the occupation.”In a statement to KNS a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) praised the firmness of the Pakistan government on their stand despite the boycott threat of India and said that if Pakistan will maintain firmness and constancy in its Kashmir policy, India will be held accountable before the world bodies and its ‘unprincipled policies’ vis-à-vis Kashmir will.

“Hues and cries and yelling of India over the Pakistan decision of not inviting of the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Speaker to the upcoming conference, are unwanted and it has no moral or constitutional justifications. India is itself making its position awkward by insisting over its unprincipled policies and she want to forcibly conciliate that status of the Kashmir assembly which is unacceptable to the world bodies, Pakistan and the people of Jammu & Kashmir itself,” he said.“A resolution of UNO had defined this assembly in clear terms that the assembly of J&K has a limited and local sphere of operation and it has no international status. Non inclusion of the J&K assembly speaker’s name in the invitee list of Pakistan is perfectly according to the international principles and the boycott threat of India over this is only an imperialistic assault and it is a sheer diplomatic hooliganism and nothing else.

Jammu & Kashmir is the most militarized region of the world and besides 7.5 lakh Indian army this region is flooded with the lakhs of para-military forces of India so how can this state assembly meet the standards of internationally accepted democratic principles, which come into being due to the military operation held in the name of elections. The elections held in Jammu & Kashmir are military operations more than a democratic process and it can’t be termed as impartial and fair. It is also a reason that the Kashmir assembly speaker cannot be invited to the proposed Parliamentary Conference and this is the right decision of Pakistan and it should be understood in a right perspective,” the spokesman added. The Hurriyat (G) advised New Delhi that they should accept the ground realities of the Kashmir issue and protect their democratic claims by accepting the right to self determination demand of its people. “It will be a favorable decision not only for Kashmiris but it will be a blessing for the millions of people of India who are suffering due to this,” he claimed.
