Asiya Naqash reviews functioning of SW, ICDS Deptts

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Ms. Asiya Naqash today reviewed that functioning of Social Welfare and Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) Departments.The meeting was attended the Mission Director (ICDS) and programme officers and other officer of the said Department and threadbare discussion was held.The Minister was informed that there is need to upgrade the Anganwari centres.The Minister asked the officers to implement the flag ships schemes of government in letter and sprits. She directed the concerned officers to provide nutrition to the deserving without any failure.The Minister also held a meeting with the Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Deputy Director Social Welfare and all District officers.The Minister was informed that the department is implementing a number of schemes meant for the welfare of weaker sections of the society like old aged persons, Women in distress, physically handicapped persons,  students belonging to minority community, ST, SC and OBC, IGNOPS, and other schemes. The Minister directed the officers to make aware the people of these schemes through awareness campus, electronic and print media.
