Hurriyat (M) condemns house arrest of Mirwaiz

Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman has strongly condemned confinement of its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to his residence by the authorities and thus preventing him from discharging his religious and political duties.In a statement to KNS a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said Mirwaiz was scheduled to visit the family of Talib Ahmad Shah who was slain a few days ago at Kakpora Pulwama. He termed the action of house conferment of Mirwaiz by the authorities as completely fascist and said that the regime has once again, by repressive measures, has put restrictions on the legitimate activities of Mirwaiz.Meanwhile on the directions of Mirwaiz a Hurriyat delegation led by Javed Ahmad Mir and Jaffer Kashmiri today visited Kakpora Pulwama and paid glowing tributes to Talib for his supreme sacrifice.

On this occasion Mir said, “Because of the undemocratic and unrealistic approach of the government of India tension between India and Pakistan is increasing. continuous suppression dictatorial methods in Kashmir are compelling younger generation to adopt militancy.”He said that Kashmir issue was a living reality and soon the leadership of India realizes it, the better it would be, because it remain the only way to bring permanent peace and stability in the South Asian region.Mir appealed the people of Kashmir to remain firm in their resolve and safeguard the sacrifices of the martyrs and that will ensure the ultimate success of the movement.On the occasion, Mir on his own behalf and behalf of Mirwaiz and entire Hurriyat expressed sympathies and solidarity and prayed for the exaltation of the departed soul in the heaven.
