06 cases cleared in District Screening Committee meeting

Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag today chaired a meeting of Regional Transport Authority for reviewing various issues relating to transport sector. Besides, other members of the Authority SSP Anantnag and Assistant Regional Transport Officer Anantnag also attended the meeting.It was given out in the meeting that additional accommodation for ARTO’s office will be identified and a special drive for identification of unregistered vehicles will also be conducted. As many as 11 cases for issuance of LA under SES/OBS/ST/OS category were also cleared during the meeting for providing mini buses to the Tanga Bhans to provide transport facility to hitherto uncovered areas of the district so that better transport facilities shall be made available in the district. Besides 04 cases under general category were cleared for LA with the orders that ARTO shall issue regular permits for routes devoid of transport facilities to the Tanga Bhans.

Executive Officer, Municipal Council Anantnag was directed to make old SRTC yard functional immediately so that private vehicles can be parked to ensure smooth ply of traffic. Shifting of Achabal Adda to fruit mandi Ashajipora was also discussed.The mushroom growth of sumo stands was viewed seriously and orders for curbing the practice was passed to the concerned officers on spot.Deputy Commissioner along with the concerned officers inspected the adjoining routes leading to Anantnag for devising a strategy to avoid problem of frequent traffic jams.Later, District Screening Committee meeting was also convened in which 06 cases pertaining to compassionate appointment of next of kins of Police personnel who lost their lives in harness were cleared. SP Anantnag, SP Kulgam and Commanding officers of various security agencies also attended the District Screening Committee Meeting.
