Reviews restoration of flood-hit infrastructure

Minister of State for Education, Information and Cultural Mrs Priya Sethi today said the Government is committed to provide better infrastructure facilities and good education to the students of the government-run schools.The Minister said this during her visit to SP Higher Secondary Institute MA Road, Srinagar. Director School Education Kashmir and senior officers of the education department accompanied the Minister.During her visit, Mrs Sethi inspected classrooms, laboratories and also interacted with the students and the teachers. The Minister also inspected the smart classroom, auditorium and took stock of the ongoing renovation work of the institute which had suffered extensive damages in September 2014 floods.

She was told that the renovation of the flood-hit infrastructure is being carried out by the R&B department out of local funds of the institute.The Minister directed the executing agency to expedite the restoration and renovation work, so that, the students don’t face any inconvenience during the current academic session.The Minister was informed that the institute is starting special classes for physically challenged children.Interacting with the teachers, the Minister asked them to work with dedication and zeal so that their students achieve new heights in their academic career.
