Nestle, Amway violated manufacturing standards: J.P. Nadda

Several food business operators, including Nestle and Amway, have violated regulatory and manufacturing standards leading to recall of their products or withdrawal of NoCs, Health Minister J.P. Nadda said on Friday.In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, he said: "Among the products of Amway Nutrilite cal mag-D, Natural B tablets, Iron Folic acids tablets and kids' drinks mixed fruit flavour while the Maggie instant noodles of the Nestle have been recalled.""Among other companies that have been found to be violating the regulatory and manufacturing standards are Monster Energy India, Hector Beverage, Akoaoma company, Barry Callebaut and Jagdale Industries," he said.

Nadda said No-objection Certificates (NoCs) of various food products (more particularly the energy drinks) manufactured by different companies including MNCs have been withdrawn and orders issued for recall of products details of which were on the FSSAI website."The cabinet has approved the Consumer Protection Bill 2015. The new Bill provides for establishment of a Central Consumer Protection Authority with power to investigate/recall goods found to be unsafe," the minister said.
